The game uses your phone's GPS to spread Pokémon across real streets, squares and parks. You walk to find them, spin PokéStops at points of interest and fight over gyms set in real places.
Group raids, community days and city events have kept the game active since 2016. It is free, with optional purchases, and works best in urban areas, where there are more points nearby.
It is for you if you
- Want a reason to walk
- Like playing in a group, out on the street
- Remember the first generations and want something casual
Maybe not, if
- You live far from busy areas
- You want an adventure with a beginning, a middle and an end
